Martavis Bryant facing year long suspension

Bryant (#10) goes up for a catch against
Josh Gordy (#27) of the
Indianapolis Colts.
It was confirmed on Saturday, that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant is facing a year long suspension related to the NFL drug policy. Last year, Bryant served a four- game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. He is fighting depression and has plans to enter rehab to help cope with his depression. Bryant has plans to appeal his suspension. If the year long suspension does hold up, he will have to be reinstated in the NFL by the commissioner.

  2. Jessica, it is so sad to see this athletes getting in trouble like this. What will it take to stop them? Is a year long suspension enough? Or in Bryant's case is he really getting the help he needs? Many of these athletes probably need more help than we know. There is such a big issue with the dehumanization of athletes. Great post!

  3. I'm sure this new did not come as a surprise to anyone based on Bryant's past record. I personally doubt he stopped using marijuana for an period of time, even after being handed a four game suspension last year. If Bryant really is suffering from depression I hope he gets the help he needs because mental health is no joke. Such a shame to see such a great talent and focal point of the Steelers offense waste a great opportunity.
